So today being the first day of the month of April and also Easter, my mother decided we should worship at Winners Chapel Chicago since we were having general conference at LDS which means we get to stay at home and watch the prophets speak. We went to Winners and the teacher who I suddenly do not remember her name anymore decided to pick on me and yell about how I have not been to church since 2017 and how my posts on facebook are filled with selfies and I quote "you'd think I was Paris Hilton". She then started to talk about one certain photo she saw that I used a dog filter and she decided to make her whole sermon about dogs. The sermon went like this:

"How can you try to be lower than who you are and start looking like a dog?"

"My God is not a dog, so why do I want to put myself as a dog and put it up on social media for the whole world to see?"

"How would an MD take a mop and start cleaning and put it up on social media calling it a filter?"

"You see your problem is that you don't know yourself, and because you don't know yourself, whatever snapchat puts you follow. Next thing they will turn you into a monkey. Everything they give to you, you take. Every ram and dog, you follow. I follow Rihanna, I follow Beyoncé, I follow Cardi B. Follow follow follow. Why are you following them? Why are they not following you? Everything you follow."

"It's not funny"

And the sad thing is many Nigerians have this kind of mentality. I don't think there's anything wrong with an MD cleaning his company. It doesn't make him lower than he is. No matter what he does, even if he wants to bleach his whole company with hypo, he is still an MD, and no one has the right to judge another person. What she did was completely wrong. How would you embarrass someone like that and expect them to still want to come to church the following Sunday. This is one of the reasons why the church is full of hypocrites and why the new members never become permanent.
